Marlaina’s Bio

Marlaina Schiavo is an American Producer, Writer, and Humorist whose a 20+ year career has run the gamut of news and entertainment.

The Gamut..  

Marlaina’s career began at CNN, which became her professional home base for over 10 years with two year stints at Fox News and Court TV wedged in the middle.  During the latter part of her tenure at CNN/HLN, Marlaina spent several years working under the deadline of a daily live show as well as in front of the camera, delivering live on-air reporting for breaking news stories.
After leaving the network in 2012,  Marlaina worked as a freelance producer and writer at both CBS News and ABC News Radio, while taking on a variety of freelance projects across all media platforms.   That same year she joined Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project as a Producer on their annual global broadcast, “24 Hours of Reality.”  In 2016, Marlaina joined Us Weekly, producing daily live digital content as well as providing on-air commentary for her favorite guilty pleasure – reality TV shows.  Marlaina is currently freelancing as a producer and is a regular on-air contributor at 77 WABC Radio.  Other appearances include Fox Business, Fox, Logo, The Blaze, Newsmax, AM970.

 The Humor…

Always having a love of comedy, Marlaina tried her hand at stand-up in 2010 and was crowned NY’s Funniest Reporter the following year.  This lead her to performing in comedy clubs around NYC and writing a comedy blog for HuffPost for several years. Marlaina is also the very proud mom of two daughters, who are often the center of her comedic brand and digital content creations.
