Todd Akin: FAUXcreation

In the wake of Rep. Todd Akin’s insane remarks, everyone is focusing on the word ‘legitimate’.  Understandable.   But why isn’t anyone highlighting Mr. Akin’s complete lack of knowing the fundamentals of procreation.   In layman’s terms Todd, that means ‘how babies are made.’  I would like to meet these doctors that advised Rep. Akin of the following:  If it’s a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down.

WTF.  Why is this the first I’m hearing about my uterus’ super powers?

But seriously, if that statement wasn’t enough, Akin added: But let’s assume maybe that whole thing didn’t work or something.

No Mr. Akin, let’s not assume.  Let’s know for a fact that “that whole thing” does not work because what you just said is a complete fallacy.  The only control women have over avoiding pregnancy, comes in these forms:  Abstinence. Birth Control. Timing.

In addition to severely insulting the intelligence of women everywhere, your insinuation also blames the victim. According to your mystical biological theory that is backed by the imaginary doctors in your head – women who become pregnant as a result of sexual assault are more or less, lying.  You are suggesting these women are suffering the consequences of a their own actions, and not the actions of a perpetrator.  That’s just gross.  You should be more than apologetic. You should be mortified.  A.

I have some advice for you, Todd:

1.)  You need to audit a high school health class in order clear up your misinformed comprehension of human reproduction.

2.) Women do not have magical anti-pregnancy capabilities.

3.) Rape is not a woman’s choice but…abortion is!  And, rightfully so.

Dumbass.
